Gangtok – Darjeeling Tour

Day 1 : Siliguri/Bagdogra to Gangtok (135 km. / approx 4.30 hrs)

Upon Arrival at Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway station, you will start your journey towards Gangtok , which is nearly 125kms away and is situated at an altitude of 5500ft. Upon arrival at Gangtok, Check in the hotel. Rest of the day you are free to explore the quaint hill town yourself. Enjoy the local cuisine. Overnight stay in Gangtok .

Day 2 : Gangtok Sightseeing

After breakfast we will start the day with visit to the famous Institute of Tibetology and proceed to Dordul ,Chholten Stupa and ancient Rumtek monastery in order to view the Buddhist culture prevalent in this region . Later you can enjoy an exhilarating ropeway ride( direct payment). By evening reach Shanti view point and enjoy its spectacular scenic beauty. Overnight at Gangtok.

Day 3 : Day Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

After breakfast we will go on an excursion to famous and magnificent Tsomgo Lake which is also known as changu lake . Enjoy the beauty of the river and its surrounding and then proceed towards Baba Mandir which is situated at 13,500 feet altitude. Get back to the hotel by early evening or late afternoon. Enjoy the beauty of Gangtok market in the evening on your own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4 : Gangtok to Darjeeling (120 Km./ 5 hrs) 

After a lazy breakfast you will be proceeding towards our next destination which his Darjeeling. It is at a distance of approximately 130 Km . It will take around Four hour drive to reach Darjeeling from Gangtok. This four hour drive overlooking the mighty Himalayan Ranges along the Tea offers impressive view. Upon arrival check-in to the hotel. You are free for the rest of the day to explore Darjeeling which his also known as queen of Hills. You can spend time in the market exploring the local cuisine , exclusive Tibetan artifacts and excellent quality of tea leaves. Dinner and overnight stay .

Day 5 : Darjeeling Sightseeing

Today we will start the day ( around 4 AM) a bit early with a visit to Tiger hills to witness a never forgetting and breathtaking sunrise . When the morning rays touch the Kanchanjunga Mountains and transform the entire area with its vibrant glow . While returning you will be visiting the well known Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia loop. Return back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast we will start a half day city sightseeing, starting with a visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. From here you can go the Himalayan Zoo and visit the famous Japanese Temple and Rock garden. Visiting the Tibetan Handicraft Centre is a must .Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Darjeeling to Siliguri/Bagdogra (90 km. / 3 hrs.)

After breakfast you will be transferred to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station which takes nearly four hours. With this the tour ends.
